Beautiful Bento in Barbados

I was pleasantly surprised to find a shop called Bento 2 Go and the other side of Worthing Square Food Court, offering sushi rolls and other Japanese dishes, and I received this new reality as a birthday present from the universe, as sushi has often been my birthday treat to myself (or have been treated to by close and dear friends).

No, of course, sushi hardly qualifies as Bajan or even remotely Caribbean, *but* it is not at all beyond Barbados to provide more cosmopolitan — some global so — options to its locals and visitors, often peppered throughout the otherwise richly lush, tropical fabric of the island.

The sushi itself was as I would want it, fresh and flavorful. My roll, the Dynamite roll, was of a good portion, yet light fare to consume, refreshing in both its bright taste and its cool (served chilled) compliment to the warm weather. One of the rolls on their menu is a Volcano roll, which is what I first ordered — apropos considering recent natural geographic events — but they were sold out of them. The Dynamite roll I did have I thoroughly enjoyed, made extra satisfying my the strawberry cucumber lemonade I paired the dish with.

By the end of the meal my birthday had been wonderful set — the beginning sunrise and ice cream with cookie I indulged in before retiring for the night were just spiritual and literal dessert.
